John's local memberships include the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford and Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce. He supports the Glastonbury community by sponsoring a team for Co-ed softball and Little League. For years prior he was a youth travel soccer coach and President of the Glastonbury Hartwell Soccer Club. 

John and his wife, Sylvia, golf frequently at Glastonbury Hills Country Club, attend UCONN Men’s basketball and spend time at their Vermont home or traveling. John enjoys skiing across New England as well as out West. They have two sons who reside in Fairfield, CT and Washington, D.C.
